In an interview with Billboard, Gomez said that she was drawn to “It Ain’t Me” because of the song’s “raw emotion.” She said, “I love the way the song is so honest and vulnerable. It’s a song that I can really relate to, and I think a lot of people will be able to relate to it as well.”
Fun fact: Selena Gomez reportedly cried while recording the song because she could relate to the lyrics so much.
